ANALYSIS OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS BY THE ENERGY SECTOR IN MUNICIPALITIES IN THE FRANCO DA ROCHA REGION, SÃO PAULO STATE

This study analyzed greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the energy sector in the municipalities of the northern sub-region of the São Paulo Metropolitan Region (RMSP) from 2005 to 2019. Emission stability was observed, except in Caieiras due to industrial growth and the construction of the CTR Caieiras landfill. The study highlights the importance of carbon credits and the adoption of sustainable practices to mitigate environmental impacts. The impact of the increased vehicle fleet on GHG emissions was also analyzed. It concludes that collaboration between companies, governments, and citizens is crucial to promoting sustainable development.
