Abstract

Justification: Education occupies a prominent place in public policies aimed at educating the population, particularly regarding adolescent learning and the interpersonal relationships established between teacher and student. Congruence, empathic understanding, and unconditional positive regard can be investigated as important elements in creating facilitating conditions for interaction, meaningful learning, promotion of mental health, and care in schools. Objective: To map the strategies for establishing interpersonal relationships between teacher and student in a school environment to promote mental health. Methodology: The methodology adopted is in accordance with the framework proposed by The Joanna Briggs Institute manual, registered in the Open Science Framework under the link https://osf.io/s8nxy/ and DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/S8NXY, in alignment with the PRISMA-Extension for Scoping Reviews checklist. Searches will be conducted in seven databases and in grey literature. Results: The results will be organized after discarding duplicates. The eligibility of articles will be determined in two stages: reading the titles and abstracts, and subsequent evaluation of the full texts by two independent reviewers. In case of disagreement, a third reviewer will be consulted. The data will be examined descriptively and organized into tables that facilitate understanding of the results, which will be discussed in light of the objective and guiding question of the review. Conclusion: the final article will be shared with the academic community and may support new studies on interpersonal relationships between teachers and students in the school environment.
